Deadpool #7 Review
I like this issue because it's very much like my favorite comic where Deadpool goes back in time and ruins Peter Parker's reputation. Here we get a flashback to the 1980s where Deadpool is hired by a demon to get the recovering alcoholic Tony Stark to go into relapse.
As expected, this issue is full of references to 1980s pop culture and fads, especially those found in comic books. My personal favorite was getting to see Deadpool's swank outfit, it's just too bad he didn't wear it throughout the entire issue.
There are cameos by Peter Parker and Flash Thompson (both sporting mullets) and also the Power Pack. While these cameos are funny, they are pointless to the overall story. Also the cameo heroes act like jerks for some reason, but I'm willing to bet it's a light-hearted parody of the gritty stories told in the 1980s.
As usual, the Deadpool comic doesn't disappoint, but the opening feels like padding.
