Batman: Arkham Origins is now slated for release on October 25, 2013 for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. Unlike its previous installments, which was developed by Rocksteady, this game will be developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal.
The game is about a younger Batman on his crusade for justice. More information will be available following the May release of Game Informer.
The game is about eight assassins coming together in Gotham City on Christmas Eve to kill Batman. The story isn't about Batman's or Arkham Asylum's origin, but it will tell how Batman meets certain characters. You will also have to take down criminals other than the assassins in order to build a good reputation among the Gotham City Police Department. Gameplay-wise, Gotham City will be twice the size of Arkham City and the player will have a non-controllable Batwing to carry Batman from area-to-area. Warner Bros. Games Montreal will also put more of an emphasis on detective work to break up the action paces in the game.
