TMNT #19 Review
Planet Neutrino's final battle has begun!
Beginning where the last issue left off, Krang is hold the King and Queen of Neutrino and is threatens to kill them if the NRF doesn't surrender the Fugitoid to him. The Neutrinos decide to assault his castle head on while the Turtles help lead an infiltration to rescue the monarchs. Meanwhile, Casey, April and Splinter find out that Burnow Island is Krang's base on Earth as Karai goes there herself and finally completes her plan of securing more ooze.
It was cool to see the NRF and the Turtles finally get along and seeing them interact with one another before the final battle was great fun and good character development. It was especially funny to see Donatello get all giddy at the fact he gets to help repair all the advanced alien tech and we also get to see that Dask and Leonardo both have to deal with the frustrations of leadership, in the form of Princess Trib and Michelangelo. It annoys me whenever a character like the princess, who has no real battle experience or training to speak of, decides to pull rank on commanding officers and participate in major battles that she will most likely be more of a hindrance than a help in (just you wait, I'll probably be wrong and she'll be the one who helps turns the tide of battle). Also, Michelangelo's crush on the princess is still very creepy.
As for Karai and the others, their part was basically just set up for the next story arc.
8.0 out of 10
(Also, am I the only one who wants see a mini-series based around the NRF, they're already 10 times cooler than their original versions from the old cartoon and I'm curious to see just what kind of missions they've done for Planet Neutrino)
